How we ranked them: Texas shops whose main business is food trucks and trailers, each with a working website about their builds and a Google Business listing. We scored each one on its Google rating, adjusted for how many reviews it has, so a 5.0 from three reviews doesn't beat a 4.8 from sixty. General trailer lots (utility, horse, boat) are left out. Data pulled October 24, 2026. No builder paid to be on this list.
Since July 1, 2026, every food truck in Texas needs a DSHS Mobile Food Vendor License, and the truck must pass a pre-licensing inspection before the license is issued. A lot of what fails that inspection is decided by the build: sinks, water tanks, sealing, screening. Picking a builder is a licensing decision, not just a price decision.

Before You Sign With Any Builder
A high rating tells you customers were happy. It doesn't tell you the truck will pass DSHS. Before you put down a deposit, get the inspection items in writing. Our questions to ask your food truck builder cover each system, and the 28-point inspection checklist shows what the inspector looks at. When the truck is done, a pre-inspection review catches problems before DSHS does.
